What licence will I need?A full E.U. Licence, held for two years. When booking you will need both your card and paper licence, if you do not have both parts we can call DVLA on a chargeable call at £2.50.
What if I have points on my licence?We will still hire if you have no more than 6 points for speeding. Other offences may need clarification with insurers - and depend on severity and date.
Is there an age limit for hire?You must be aged 23 to 75 to hire a car, van or MPV. Drivers hiring self drive 17 Seat minibuses must be aged 25 to 70 with a category D1 on their licence.
What does the hire cost cover?The hire + VAT and comprehensive insurance for the named driver.
Can I have more than one driver?Yes, provided they hold the appropriate licence and they have to be with you when you hire.
Are there any extras to pay other than the published rates?We will hold a deposit, this is returned once the vehicle is returned fuelled, within the hire mileage allowed and undamaged, you can take out ’Collision Damage Waiver’ this covers any more fault damage.
How do you work out the fuel?All vehicles are full when hired and should be returned full, if not you will be charged at £5.00 plus the cost of fuel + VAT.
What is the mileage allowance?You are able to cover 200 miles per day. Additional miles are charged at 5p per mile + VAT cars, vans and MPV, 10p per mile + VAT for minibuses.
What is ’Collision Damage Waiver’?All hire vehicles are covered fully comprehensive insurance with an Excess of £500 We recommend CDW as this reduces the Excess by 50% if you have an accident which was your fault and covers 100% any non fault damage, such as windscreen chips, minor scratches, vandalism etc. Damage that you can not be directly accountable for ’NON FAULT’.
What happens if I breakdown?You must report the incident to us immediately, all vehicles are covered under the AA roadside assistance and recovery to the destination of your choice.
What happens if I have to be recovered?We will replace the vehicle although some delay is inevitable.
Can I take the vehicle abroad?Yes, but you will need additional insurance ’Green Card’ which we arrange at an additional fee, plus breakdown cover and a form VE103B - both legal requirements when travelling abroad.
How long can I hire for?As long as you like, but we will change the vehicle to allow for safety inspections which we carry out every 6 weeks.
When can I collect and return vehicles?We are open Mon-Fri 08.00 to 17.00, Sat 08.00 to 12.00. Weekend hire rates are from 12.00 Fri to 09.00 Mondays. However, we are not open Bank Holidays and these are additional hire days. If the vehicle is returned late, we reserve the right to charge a full day.
Can I return vehicles out of hours?Yes by appointment, but this will be drop off only, you may have to wait for your deposit return.
Can I have home delivery?Yes, but you will still return to our site to complete the paperwork and we have a charge of £1.50 per mile to your home address minimum charge £15.00. This service is also by appointment with a booked time.
How do I reserve a vehicle?You can leave a deposit by credit or debit card over the phone, or send a cheque for £25.00. Only booking with a deposit are guaranteed.
What happens if I have an accident?Report it to us immediately; you will need to complete an accident report form which is in the vehicle. Make sure you get as much detail as possible, including any witnesses, failure to provide this information could result in a charge of the full excess.
Can I take pets?Sorry, no.
